Meet the Camp Counselors

Coach Steve WalshCoach Steve Walsh

Coach Walsh received a basketball and baseball scholarship to Saint Louis University (SLU) where he graduated in 1977 with a B.A. in Sociology and an M.A. in Urban Affairs.  He played varsity basketball and baseball while attending SLU.

He spent nearly 30 years of his career in the front office of the St. Louis/Arizona Cardinals of the NFL in charge of ticketing, retail, and operations.  He has spent the last 5 years coaching high school basketball in St. Louis.  He is currently the assistant varsity basketball coach at Saint Louis Priory School where is works closely with Coach McCormack.  

Fun fact: While at SLU he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals, the Chicago White Sox, and the Montreal Expos but never had the opportunity to play major league baseball.

Coach Mike McCormack

Coach McCormack brings 35 years of educational and coaching experience to the camp. McCormack is a 1974 graduate of CBC and played collegiate basketball at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. His years of experience cover all aspects of education from being a high school principal and athletic director to teaching physical education and coaching basketball.  He has assisted Head Coach McCormack for 25 years with camp.

Fun Facts: Coach McCormack played against Larry Bird at Indiana State University in 1977 and 1978. He plays golf regularly and has recorded one hole in one. Coach McCormack is Bobby’s brother.


 

Coach Michael Kaletta

A native of St. Louis, and a 1997 graduate of Kirkwood High School and 2002 Graduate of Missouri Baptist University with a degree in Kinesiology and a Masters degree Classroom teaching. Michael played basketball at Kirkwood under Coach Mark Bernsen and also played collegiate Basketball at Missouri Baptist University. Michael was a volunteer assistant at Kirkwood under Thad Strobach and then moved on to Saint Louis University for two years as Assistant to Jill Pizzotti and moved on to be a volunteer assistant for the Missouri Baptist Men’s basketball Program.

Michael has worked numerous University basketball camps and has been working the Mike Brey Notre Dame basketball camp for the past 15 years.  Michael has been a counselor for The Bobby McCormack Basketball Camp for several years. When Michael is not coaching summer camps he spends time as a Physical Education Teacher in the Northwest R1 School District. 

Fun fact: He is an identical twin and he is a movie fanatic and likes to quote movies whenever it is appropriate.

 


Coach Paul Kaletta

A native of St. Louis, and a 1997 graduate of Kirkwood High School and 2002 Graduate of Missouri Baptist University with a degree Kinesiology and Masters Degree in Sports Management. Paul played basketball at Kirkwood under Coach Mark Bernsen and also played collegiate Basketball at Missouri Baptist University. Paul was a volunteer assistant at Kirkwood under Thad Strobach and then moved on to John Burroughs for three years as Assistant to Steve Wilcutt and Paul was also head basketball coach at St. John the Baptist High School for two years. 

Paul has worked numerous University basketball camps and has been working the Mike Brey Notre Dame basketball  for the last 15 years. Paul has been a counselor for The Bobby McCormack Basketball Camp for several years. When Paul is not coaching summer camps he spends time as a Physical Education Teacher in the Northwest R1 School District.

Fun Fact: Paul’s favorite All time NBA player is Andrew Toney

 


Cory McArthy

Cory is a former camper and is a rising junior at CBU in Memphis, Tennessee where he majors in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management.  He is back for his third summer as a counselor with his emphasis on the NAIA division. He is a 2010 graduate of CBC High School where he was a point guard on the Varsity basketball team for three years under Coach McCormack’s direction.  He holds multiple records at CBC including highest free throw percentage in a single season and highest number of 3 pointers made in a single season. He was two time MCC All Conference.  At CBU Cory was a starter as a freshman.  He led the sophomore team in three pointers made and shoots 45 percent from the 3 point line.  He feels extremely blessed that his team reached the Sweet 16 in Division II basketball.

Fun Fact:  Cory’s father graduated from CBU and was an All American basketball player.  Cory’s younger brother, Ryan, will be attending CBU in 2012 and also playing basketball.

 


Seth Jackson

Seth is a 2nd year counselor who works with the NBA division.  Seth is an outstanding basketball player who was on the 1st team All Conference and played for the St. Louis Eagles 17U whose team managed a 3rd place finish.   He also averaged 21 points per game and six rebounds per game while playing on the varsity team at CBC High School. As a freshman at Truman State University Seth was honored with becoming the MIAA Freshman of the Year and named to the Division II Bulletin All Freshman team.

Fun Facts: Seth played on ESPNU twice with the Eagles and his father played Division I basketball at James Madison University.

 


Chris Noll Chris Noll

Chris is a former camper and will be returning this summer as a counselor working with the High School division.  He attends the University of Missouri – Columbia and is majoring in both Business Management and Sports Management.  Chris was an honor student at CBC High School where he played basketball for four years.  Chris was lucky enough to play with Seth on the 2010 varsity basketball team that finished 3rd place in the State Championship.

Fun Fact: Chris has been scuba diving in the Cayman Islands and Turks and Caicos.
